Finally, if you're on Linux your options are more limited - Reaper or Bitwig. For players on PC, Reaper is the most budget-friendly option, but all DAWs are supported except Logic. While its feature set is limited, it offers a great way of getting started, and an on-ramp that will cross over to Logic when you know what you're doing. Most guitarists on Mac will first experiment with loops and tracking on GarageBand.
